- Indicator name: Improvement rate of water pollution
- Competent Authority:Water Quality Protection Division, Department of Environmental Protection
- Indicator definition:Statistical definition of the Environmental Protection Administration: RPI is calculated based on the concentrations of the four water quality parameters (i.e., dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, suspended solids, and ammonia nitrogen). RPI determines the degree of river water pollution.

Implementation Results
- 2018 implementation results:The proportion of severe pollution in 2018 was 4.6%; a RPI value of 2.28
- 2019 implementation results:The proportion of severe pollution in 2019 was 2.6%; a RPI value of 2.15
- 2020 implementation results:The proportion of severe pollution in 2020 was 5.8%; a RPI value of 2.57

Sustainable Development Indicators for New Taipei City
Following interdepartmental communication, New Taipei City (NTPC) Government compiled 81 sustainability indicators, thereby formulating short-term goals to be achieved by 2020, mid-term goals to be achieved by 2025, and long-term goals to be achieved by 2030 in accordance with global trends. Through continuous horizontal communication and collaboration between its departments, NTPC Government has improved the depth and breadth of the city’s performance in alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This enhances NTPC’s recognition on the global stage during international policy exchanges and sets the benchmark for a sustainable and healthy city.
