The beach is beautiful, but the trash shouldn't be left behind.
New Taipei City has launched the“Beach Cleanup Co-op,” partnering with coastal stores to provide the public with borrowable beach cleanup tools. This means you can head out immediately to clean the beach without having to prepare a bunch of equipment yourself, and together we can protect the coastal environment.
Currently, 50 partner stores across 9 coastal districts in New Taipei have joined the program. Since its launch, it has already recorded 7,120 tool borrowings and the removal of 17.2 metric tons of garbage.
Next time you visit the beach, don’t just enjoy the sea — do a little more for the coast.Before setting out, remember to contact the partner stores in advance, and pay attention to the weather, sea conditions, and your own safety. Do what you can, and together let's preserve the beauty of our coastline.
