2021-12-01
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Voluntary Local Review (VLR) published by New Taipei City in 2019 has won various Taiwanese and international awards. Specifically, the VLR won the iF Design Award, one of the world’s top four design awards, in the first half 2021, and it was later awarded a Gold Award for the Government Agencies Voluntary Local Review category at the 14th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award (TCSA) on November 17.
The TCSA, which is regarded as Oscars for sustainability in Taiwan, was started in 2008 by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy. The institute aims to promote corporate social responsibility, reward businesses that have fulfilled their social responsibility, enhance social responsibility standards across all sectors in Taiwan, increase sustainable practice, and draw attention to corporate social responsibility and sustainability. This year, the TCSA added a new category, namely the Government Agencies Voluntary Local Review, under which New Taipei City’s first VLR won a gold award.
