the Secretariat renovated the B1F public space of the city hall with minimal repairs, integrating the United Nations SDGs and circular economy principles to create a sustainable public space. This offers citizens and city employees a warm, comfortable, and vibrant inclusive space.

The New Taipei City Hall is a public building that has now been standing for over 20 years. It has undergone a three-stage transformation from an existing building to an intelligent energy-saving building with a people-centric sustainable working environment, predicated on "energy conservation and carbon reduction," "intelligent energy-saving," and ensuring a "sustainable office environment."

Over the past few years, New Taipei City Government has been committed to building a livable and thriving city by working tirelessly on urban development, river regulation, disaster prevention, traffic infrastructure, ensuring public security, improving education, promoting sports, tourism, and culture.

Mayor Hou pointed out that in the face of various challenges, Taiwan can draw on Singapore's experiences in leveraging its strengths and capabilities internally, and deepen international ties externally to create opportunities and strengths for the nation.

Chingyu Yao, the Director-General of the Secretariat of the New Taipei City Government, investigated the relationship between gender equality efforts at the local level and how it supports the feminist municipal agenda, the UCLG's Pact for the Future, and global initiatives like the SDGs.

Since its designation as a special municipality, New Taipei City has been dedicated to promoting the three-ring, six-line rail construction project. The project is expected to be completed by 2030 and comprises a total length of 235 km. The first ring connects the New Taipei Circular line, the north section of the Circular line, and the south section of the Circular line. The second ring connects the Wanda–Zhonghe line, the Xinzhuang line, and the New Taipei Shulin line. The third ring connects the Banqiao line, the Tucheng line, the Sanyin line, the Taoyuan Green line, the Airport line, and Dingpu. The six lines are the Danhai light rail, Ankeng light rail, Xizhi–Donghu line, Wugu–Taishan light rail, Bali light rail, and Shenkeng light rail.

Between 2019 and 2022, we hosted and participated in 55 international events, during which we exchanged with more than 30 organizations, 379 cities, and 12,577 individuals. Using the language of the global community, New Taipei created a new paradigm for city diplomacy.
