New Taipei’s startup innovation has officially landed in Tokyo! As part of its strategic mission to scale startups globally, the New Taipei City Youth Department—powered by its primary startup hub, InnoSquare—is presenting three premier startup teams at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, Asia’s most influential tech summit.

The delegation features New Taipei startups Oen Tech, Alpenglow Tek, and Chen Kai Tech, marking the city's first-ever official presence at this prestigious global summit. Among the highlights, Oen Tech was invited to the "Taiwan-Japan Forum" to share its experience collaborating with Japanese social enterprise "For Good (Borderless Japan)" on cross-border fundraising initiatives, underscoring the global ambition and connectivity of New Taipei’s startup ecosystem.

Partnering with Startup Island TAIWAN to Build an International Stage
Marcia Chiu, Director of the New Taipei City Youth Department, noted that SusHi Tech Tokyo—jointly promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Japan's leading economic and innovation agencies—focuses on AI, robotics, and urban resilience. The event has attracted over 60,000 participants and 700 startups, facilitating nearly 10,000 business matchmaking sessions.

Chiu emphasized that trust and stability are paramount to Japanese corporations. To navigate this market landscape, the Youth Department partnered with Taiwan’s national startup brand, Startup Island TAIWAN, to host the teams within the Taiwan Pavilion. This strategic alignment provides New Taipei startups with a high-profile platform to interact with overseas markets and expand international dialogue.

Spotlight on AI Innovation: Founders Share Global Expansion Insights
Hsin Cheng Hsiao, CEO of Oen Tech, which specializes in integrated payment platforms, noted that the summit provided invaluable opportunities to engage with GovTech TOKYO and various international enterprises. "We have confirmed that the Oen platform possesses significant potential for international scalability," Hsiao stated. He observed a strong demand in Japan for secure payments, event digitalization, and AI business applications, predicting that AI agents will emerge as a pivotal trend in future commerce.

Mark Chen, CEO of Alpenglow Tek, a leader in ultra-low-power micro-AI computing, shared that the event enabled his team to connect with Japanese local governments, venture capitalists, and industry executives. "There is high interest in our micro-AI chip technology," Chen remarked. These discussions centered on the possibilities of localized applications and industrial implementation within Japan, laying a critical foundation for Alpenglow Tek’s overseas expansion and brand visibility.

Chen Ming Kuo, CEO of Chen Kai Tech, developer of multifunctional unmanned surface vehicles for water surveying and quality testing, engaged extensively with VC and industry representatives from Europe, the U.S., and Japan. "Beyond securing advice on identifying Japanese partners, we also explored potential use cases in the military sector," Kuo said. He outlined his vision to utilize the Kanto region as a strategic hub to gradually penetrate the broader Japanese market.

Strengthening Ties at the Taiwan-Japan Forum and Beyond
During the summit, Oen Tech took the stage at the "Taiwan-Japan Forum" to showcase its successful collaboration with "For Good (Borderless Japan)." By enabling Japanese artisan brands to implement digital management tools and deepen their connections with Taiwanese users, Oen Tech demonstrated the tangible cross-border capabilities of Taiwanese startups.

The New Taipei City Youth Department also coordinated a visit to the Startup Island TAIWAN Tokyo Hub to examine Tokyo's startup support infrastructure. The delegation conducted a series of knowledge exchanges with the Seoul Business Agency (SBA), the Philippine ecosystem platform TechShake, and various Southeast Asian startup representatives.

Furthermore, the Department facilitated high-level dialogues with leading Japanese financial institutions and venture capital firms, including Mizuho Bank, SMBC, Rakuten Capital, DCI Partners, and UB Ventures. The Youth Department reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing startup mentorship and integrating resources across the entire value chain to ensure New Taipei startups achieve steady, sustainable growth on the global stage. 相關連結 相關連結
