2022-07-08
On July 7 to July, 2022, Education Department of New Taipei City participated in the National Environmental Education Conference held annually by the Ministry of Education. This year's topic was "Ocean City and Sustainable Education," and the conference was organized by the Keelung City Government for two consecutive days at National Museum of Marine Science and Technology. In 2019, New Taipei City released Taiwan's first (and the world's 10th) voluntary local review (VLR) on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, sparing no effort to promote sustainable development.
This year, the second VLR released by New Taipei City in 2021 was presented during the conference. This review report comprises 60 cases of sustainable governance, and its packaging was designed and realized by three local manufacturers in New Taipei City based on the concept of circulation to reflect the idea of sustainability through the report content and cover.

Education is no longer only about gaining knowledge; students should receive training for independent thinking, decision-making, and critical thinking. Thie education approach enables New Taipei City to become a sustainable city that promotes diversified development in line with individuals' aptitudes.
