For the purpose of enhancing communication and establishing partnerships between the public and private sectors, the “New Taipei Smart City Enterprise Service Integrity Platform Cross Domain Forum on ‘Enterprise Integrity and Sustainability’” took place in Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park (Tpark) on July 18, 2024. Conducted by the New Taipei City Government and the Agency Against Corruption, Ministry of Justice (AAC), the forum aimed to encourage businesses to achieve SDG 16 and align with its values of peace and justice by strengthening integrity and governance and implementing sustainable operations. With New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-Ih in attendance and over 200 people invited to participate in the event, including representatives of the AAC and various industry associations and guilds in New Taipei City, as well as employees from Tpark, and other industry sectors, the forum enabled all participants to collaborate and build an extraordinary investment environment with integrity, which advances sustainable development of the nation and enterprises.
The forum especially invited Far Eastern New Century Corporation, a leading company in Taiwan, to share its practical experience in corporate legal compliance and governance. The Taiwan Institute of Economic Research and Yesin Law Firm also served as guests, delivering keynote lectures on corporate ESG sustainable development and enterprise integrity management, respectively. To delve deeper into Tpark's development plan for low-carbon smart management and sustainable technology, New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-Ih visited Far Eastern Resource Development Co., Ltd. after the forum ended, bearing witness to the corporation's determination to achieve internationalization and net-zero carbon emissions.
Exchanges between the public and private sectors also took place during the event. The Economic Development Department elucidated the city's policy guidelines and resource integration strategies for net-zero transformation to enterprises, and delineated proper public-private interactions and relationships in line with enterprise integrity guidelines published by the Civil Service Ethics Office. Decision-makers and relevant parties from industry, government, and academia all gathered at the New Taipei Enterprise Service Integrity Platform Forum, filling the room with enthusiasm. Together, the participants worked on building a transparent and clear future for the society and pursuing enterprise integrity and sustainable operations.
