Alhambra City is located in southern California where droughts have been recurring. So, water conservation has been a severe issue of energy sustainability there. The city has been putting efforts in terms of air quality, plastic waste, and water conservation since 2016. For example, they encourage local residents to walk or bike instead of driving. Furthermore, a city law has been made to prevent local restaurants from giving out disposable plastic utensils unless customers requested. Alhambra has also been growing more trees, and is now officially recognized as a Tree City.
