The Civil Service Ethics Office of the New Taipei City Government has actively promoted campus integrity and honesty education since 2012, and has been widely praised for its publication of numerous innovative teaching materials. Combining the moral value of integrity with the concept of “SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions,” Taiwan's first SDG 16 integrity storybook, All About Our Class: Lessons from the School Fair, was published in September this year (2024). The story addresses issues such as “saying no to bribery,” “fairness and justice,” “eliminating discrimination” and “public participation,” encouraging children to practice kindness in their daily lives and in school, and to understand the spirit of sustainable development through reading and learning.



In order to enhance the value of integrity in schools, the Civil Service Ethics Office cooperated with the New Taipei Municipal Wulai Elementary and Junior High School and the Chongqing Elementary School in Banqiao District to hold story sharing activities. During these activities, students were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in the stories and become the protagonists, and to discuss class-level school fair matters. The activities came alive as participants talked about solutions for shared issues, creating an environment filled with laughter. To enhance the implementation and widespread adoption of integrity education, storybook promotion activities have also been paired with training courses for the integrity storytelling volunteers of New Taipei City. Through dynamic performances and sharing activities from the storytelling sessions and practical courses conducted by trained parent-child reading teachers, the storytelling skills of volunteers were improved, allowing them to convey the importance of honesty and integrity to the children more effectively.
