2026-04-21

Call for entries for the '2026 New Taipei Youth Creative Teams Overseas Exhibition Program' is now open!
The "2026 New Taipei Youth Creative Teams Overseas Exhibition Program" is now open for applications through July 26! Under this year's theme, “NEW TAIPEI, YOUTH WAVE,” the program targets three flagship markets—Seoul (South Korea), Chiang Mai (Thailand), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)—to lead New Taipei’s creative teams onto the international stage. Eligible applicants include youths aged 18 to 40 who live, work, study, or have registered businesses in New Taipei City. We invite you to join "Team New Taipei" and bring New Taipei’s original IPs to the global market.
Marcia Chiu, New Taipei City Government Youth Department Commissioner, stated that this year’s program has been fully upgraded. In addition to continuing its presence in the South Korean market via The Seoul Illustration Fair (SIF), the program will make its first foray into Southeast Asia by participating in Chiang Mai Design Week 2026. This expansion aims to help teams tap into Southeast Asian tourism and creative business opportunities. The program not only provides full subsidies for exhibition booth fees but also introduces expert mentorship and market-matching mechanisms. This allows young creators to engage directly with overseas buyers and agents, transforming creative works into tangible business opportunities in the international market.

Marcia Chiu, New Taipei City Government Youth Department Commissioner, announces the full upgrade of the 2026 Overseas Exhibition Program, targeting three key markets: Malaysia, Thailand, and South Korea.
New Taipei City Government Youth Department added that the program provides professional guidance throughout the process, from administrative procedures and booth design to pricing strategies. During the exhibitions, professional interpreters and briefings on local sales mechanisms will be provided, enabling teams to adapt quickly and focus on business development. Past participants, such as miimiicat, noted that with the help of on-site interpretation, their works were more deeply understood, significantly boosting their confidence in international exchange. Yemao shared that every exhibition is an opportunity to rediscover the market and refine their creative direction.
The program also emphasizes "long-term cultivation and strengthening of original IP management." This year, a special selection of outstanding past participants, including miimiicat, Yemao, ririkoko, Miki Li Art, and fangtzu, will represent New Taipei City Government Youth Department at the Kuala Lumpur Illustration Fair (KLIF) in May, ensuring New Taipei’s creative energy remains visible worldwide. The press conference featured an exhibition of these teams' works and past achievements, demonstrating New Taipei City Government Youth Department’s commitment to supporting brand growth and international integration.

Mira Chen, Co-founder of WHATZ International Contemporary Art Fair, announces that she will assist New Taipei City artists in participating in WHATZ 2026 on May 22.
The selection process consists of two stages: "Document Review" and "Physical Brand Exhibition & Sales." Seven to twelve outstanding teams will be selected to participate in either Chiang Mai Design Week (December 5-13) or The Seoul Illustration Fair (December 24-27). An "Application Briefing" will be held on May 18. Interested parties are encouraged to register and learn more about the program details.
